Facts About Aging Demographics:
- About 4 million older Americans suffer from “food insecurity” each year.
- seniors face living on fixed incomes face escalations in property taxes and other fees placing serious strain on limited resources.
- At least half of all seniors are at-risk of out living their assets or an impoverishing event.
- Only 5 percent of those 55 and older change residences in any given year, preferring to “age in place” in their communities.

- Food insecurity effects 1-in-11 seniors in Summit, Wasatch and Utah County.
- The fastest growing segment of our population are those who are turning 60 years-old.
- By 2016 there will be 1 in 10 in line with at the store will be over the age of 70.
